stata_splashThis weekend Professor Janine Utell, chair of the English department, presented a paper at the 2014 International Conference on Narrative held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. Her paper, “Narrative, Agency, and Artifacts: Theorizing Leann Shapton’s Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris,” was part of a session on “21st-Century Book Objects: Media & Narrative.” Professor Utell’s interest in Shapton’s book is part of her larger research project on biographies of couples.
